Intro to Aerial
This 45-minute class is a MANDATORY requirement before you can take any other class.
This class is all about fundamentals, it is NOT a workout and it will NOT teach you a bunch of aerial tricks (i.e. it is not a substitute for an aerial party). Phones and cameras are not permitted to be used during the workout, however, you will have five minutes at the end of class to take a photo.
This class will introduce you to the principles of using aerial hammocks for fitness and flexibility including body alignment, different grips and wraps, transitions, modifications and terminology. You will learn how to safely invert (go upside-down), stand in the fabric, find your balance and execute basic fitness and flexibility moves. No need to be intimidated, everyone in the class will be a beginner just like you!
This class is a full-body workout with traditional cardio, strength and toning moves that use the fabric for resistance or support. These classes will help you build muscle, strength, and endurance and create a lean, toned body. Using bodyweight and gravity, you are in total control of how far to push yourself. Prepare to be challenged, upside down and totally spent by the end of class! Fly Fit® is appropriate for all fitness levels and abilities.
Build strength and skills to perform on the aerial silk hammocks. Each semester will end with a showcase of skills or choreography.
Ages 8 and Up recommended. Contact Amanda prior to registration.
Aerial Dance- Coming Soon!
In Aerial Dance students learn to use the hammock to create elegant shapes to choreographed dance sequencing. Each class starts with a warm-up emphasizing strength, flexibility & alignment and will continue by introducing elements of progressive choreography on the floor and with the hammock. No dance skills required, we promise easy choreography and aerials that everyone can follow in a no judgment zone.

I’m nervous about the aerials, is it safe?
When you are new, we teach very basic aerial moves that only are 2-3 feet off the ground. We keep our class sizes small enough that we can give you personalized attention and you will receive both verbal instructions and hands-on assistance. We do go upside-down in every aerial class including Intro so if you do not like being upside-down, have vertigo or motion sickness our classes may not be a good fit for you.
I’m not in great shape, will I be able to do this?
The hammocks hold 1,000 lbs, so don’t worry about your weight, they can hold anyone. It does require mobility so we recommend you be able to lift your foot 2.5 feet above the ground and pull yourself to standing from a sitting position before coming to class. We offer modifications for our fitness and flexibility moves that will help you adjust the intensity as you build strength. The aerial moves are the easiest part of our classes for most people, it is the lunges, planks, sit-ups and pull-ups that will challenge you!
What do I do first?
Intro to Aerials is a mandatory first class for new clients. If you have aerial experience, email us to discuss whether that can be waived for you.
How do I sign up?
We do not accept walk-ins. You must register and pay for class in advance. You can only book classes two weeks in advance, our schedule will not permit enrollments that are more than two weeks out. Sign ups are accepted up until 60 minutes prior to class. If a Sign Up button is not showing on our schedule, either the class is full or you are within 60 minutes before the class start time.
